Ahead of the historic vote the States’ Assembly and Constitution Committee has arranged for Guernsey Post to deliver the leaflets (pictured above and below) to every household during this week.

The leaflets will give readers all of the information voters need to know to take part in the referendum, on Wednesday 10 October, including information about:
- the five options in the referendum; and
- signing up to vote if you are not already on the Electoral Roll, or if you have changed address or name since the 2016 election; and
- how and where people can vote.

Deputy Roffey, President of the States’ Assembly & Constitution Committee, said, it is important people read the leaflets so they are fully informed ahead of the referendum.
“The States agreed that the Committee should provide impartial and comparable information on each of the five options on the ballot paper. We have sent out this leaflet to provide this and other helpful information about the Electoral Roll, and how and where to vote, to ensure people know how to take part in this referendum.
“The referendum presents the public with the opportunity to have their voices heard on how Deputies should be elected. I would strongly encourage everyone to take part and vote to determine their future electoral system. “
Anyone who is not on the electoral roll has until 4 October to sign up. You can do that, register for a postal vote and find out more about voting at gov.gg. You can also pick up a form at Sir Charles Frossard House, the Guille Allès Library or from the island’s Constables and Parish offices.
