This year also coincides with the 250th anniversary of his birth and the parish has organised a separate celebration of this today, Sunday 6 October.
The Boys’ Brigade band will play fife and drum music appropriate to the time and the focus of the event will be a 20 minute play by the History in Action Company about Brock. This is timed to start at noon outside Boots the Chemist at the top of High Street, the building where Brock lived.
At 12:30 on 13 October, the parish will commemorate his death at Queenston Heights, by gathering outside Boots, where Brock lived, and lay a wreath on the building above the main doors.
