Guernsey Public Health Services have advised Sark’s Government to carry out surge testing for staff working in venues that this group attended, which has commenced immediately.
The island’s Pandemic Emergency Committee has not publicly confirmed which places were visited by the tourists, or where the visitors came from.
“These visitors did attend several local establishments which have been informed,” said Sark’s Government in a statement. “The Medical Centre are contacting these premises to obtain surveillance swabs.”
Surge testing is done as a precautionary measure in an effort to detect any further cases and prevent onward transmission of the virus.
Public Health Services use this routinely to follow-up potential contacts of a case.
