The portable sauna installed on Guernsey’s west coast could be moved from Vazon to Cobo this summer.
‘Rock Box Sauna’ – which manages the sauna at Vazon (pictured above) – has applied for planning permission to install a sauna trailer, with associated signage and string lights, in L’Estrainfer Car Park at Cobo.
That is the land just south west of the slip way at Cobo beach nearest to the public toilets and near the Mim’s kiosk.
The plans submitted to the Development and Planning Authority propose putting the mobile sauna on land just off the car park so it won’t affect any of the existing spaces.

Rock Box Sauna is owned by Peter Lawson, who successfully applied for permission to install his first sauna trailer at Vazon last year.
While it is most often situated adjacent to the Guernsey Surf Club facility next door to Vistas cafe, it will be relocated to the other side of Albecq during the surf club’s busy period over the summer months.

The first mobile, but permanently situated, sauna in Guernsey was installed at La Vallette earlier last year. Hot Haus is managed by Rob and Kirsty Allen.
There are similar facilities in Alderney and Jersey too.
Saunas are reported to offer several health benefits for users due to their ability to promote relaxation and increase body temperature.
The heat can help improve circulation, relax muscles, and ease joint pain.
Regular sauna users also claim it can aid detoxification, support heart health, and enhance overall well-being by reducing stress.
