A fresh survey of the seabed on the east coast has been completed.

Good weather meant that the work was completed faster than expected and the 6.5m catamaran used, Shoreline, returned to Weymouth on Friday.

The vessel used multi-beam survey equipment to map the seabed and update electronic charts with depths and contours of Guernsey’s east coast and the west and south coasts of Herm.

The work was commissioned by Navionics, which produces electronic navigational charts.

“We have asked them to share the survey data with the UK Hydrographic Office so they can also update their products with the latest information,” Guernsey’s Harbourmaster Captain Jerome Davis said.
