Civil Protection Officers told Express that the seafront had been closed so that pedestrians could walk in the road, as pavements were flooded, and to help water drainage.
It is anticipated that the seafront will be closed again tomorrow morning, with a 9.9m tide forecastfor 09:00.
There is also expected to be low pressure, which tends to raise sea levels.
