Guernsey’s debut “Seafront Saturdaze” is set to transform the town seafront tonight, (Saturday 26th July), running from 1600 until 2200.

The special evening trial aims to create a vibrant “golden hour atmosphere” for islanders and visitors alike.

The seafront will be closed to traffic this afternoon from 1400. However, organisers say that ample parking will remain “fully accessible” at both Crown Pier and Albert Pier.

The stretch of seafront between the two piers will look to host a diverse array of attractions, including various food and drink stalls offering refreshments, opportunities for al fresco dining, and numerous local arts and crafts vendors showcasing their creations. Organisers add that Live music will also be a key feature, adding to the festive ambience.

“Seafront Saturdaze” seeks to serve as a pilot event, and gauge the potential for more evening events.

The popular EDABL, (Eat Drink and Be Local!) Seafront Sunday, is scheduled for tomorrow, (Saturday 27 July), and there’s another on the 31st of August when the Aurora cruise ship will be paying a visit.

Charity will take the reins for the first Seafront Sunday in September, (Sunday 14th September), with the Association of Guernsey Charities.
