The Director of Public Health, Dr Nicola Brink, said the patient became symptomatic on their return, with a cough, fever or shortness of breath.

Confirming the news shortly before a media briefing this afternoon Dr Brink said the person has been in self-isolation since they came back.

“The patient has a clear travel history and went into self-isolation immediately on their return. This underlines our consistent messaging to the community regarding self-isolation, seeking advice if you become unwell having returned from travel and practicing social distancing.”
