The event, which always takes place just before the South Show itself, is based at the Guernsey Riding and Hunt Club.

While judges will be on site to score the show jumpers, riders will also be able to all get together and enjoy the show with gymkhana games.

The jumping itself will go on all weekend though, with categories for riders of different skill levels and ages.

Andrew Walker, the organiser of the event, said it was going to be an exciting weekend with things for anyone who wanted to come along to enjoy.

“As long as everyone enjoys themselves it is going to be a success,” he said.

“We want to make sure we put on a good time for all.”

In 2017, Mr Walker tried to revitalise the traditional horse section of the show by changing the format and making it more entertaining. Since then, he said the show has been doing better and better.

Those taking part in the show jumping – the jumps for which will have lots of different themes Mr Walker is yet to reveal – will be in the running to win prize money and rosettes.
