The CCA has agreed that this age group will benefit from relaxed restrictions on arrival to the Bailiwick, like other fully vaccinated ‘blue’ passengers, providing that two weeks have passed since their first jab.

This decision was made by the CCA based on evidence that a single dose in this age group provides 80% protection against hospitalisation.

There is currently no guidance as to when the second dose should be administered and, unlike adults, a date for the second dose is not provided when they receive their first.

A letter will be supplied by the Vaccination Contact Centre as evidence for the Travel Tracker that a single dose has been received.

If someone is preparing to travel, they should contact the VCC more than seven days before travelling to allow time for the letter to arrive.

The letter supplied is only relevant to travel into the Bailiwick of Guernsey, and will not entitle 16 and 17 year olds to receive a proof of vaccination certificate.
