A new festival for Guernsey will launch in October, featuring traditional jazz, modern jazz, electronic soundscapes and more, with performances at St James and the OGH.

The Global Collection Festival has been created to carry on the ethos, established over the last three years, of St James’ Global Collection Series of events.

The new event will showcase some of the most interesting and creative musicians currently performing, be they local, from the UK or further afield, said the team behind it.

16 international artists will visit Guernsey for the four days of the festival, performing their own established sets and coming together with local talent for genre-bending collaborations.

The music will range from traditional jazz to songwriting and story telling, cutting edge modern jazz to ambient electronic soundscapes, delivering something for all audiences.

GCF’25 is also excited to announce the return of popular Jazz drummer Myele Manzanza, who will be performing with current London favourites LVDF, and Sax player Guido Spannocchi, who is taking time out from the London Jazz Festival at The Bloomsbury Club, to come over and perform with his Quartet.

Performances will take place in St James’ Whittaker Hall, new basement venue The Pit, and the Café upstairs, as well as across the road at the OGH Brasserie and Cocktail Bar with some special Jazz dinners and post event wind-downs.

Day events at the café will be free and open to non ticket holders until 19:00 before the ticket evening performances start. Drinks and food will be prepared and served with his exceptional French flair by Le Comptoir Guernsey.

The festival is hosting a photography exhibition of live music photography, which will be available for viewing in the Dorey Room, and throughout the venue.

The festival will run between 30 October and 1 November.
