Real Christmas trees – not plastic ones – can be tipped at a number of locations in the island, including: Queux Patio Plant Centre, Le Friquet Garden Centre, Chouet green waste site and at the Longue Hougue Household Waste & Recycling Centre
“Our soil conditioner is great for mulching and digging into your flower and vegetable beds to improve the soil. It is available for all islanders to collect, free of charge, from the Chouet green waste site so everyone’s gardens can benefit in 2024,” said Waste Minimisation and Sustainability Officer, Douglas Button.
“Just remember to remove all your tinsel, baubles and trimmings before dropping them off,”
Guernsey Waste said every year there are about 6,000 Christmas trees that are recycled. They’re shredded and then processed into soil conditioner.
You have until 31 January to drop off your tree.
