The guidance is not an official command at the moment, but is offered as advice in the latest update issued by the States of Guernsey overnight.
The islands government has tightened the borders, adding the entire world to either Group A or Group B. That means anyone returning from off-island has to either self isolate for 14 days regardless of if they don’t have any cold or flu like symptoms at all (Group A) or they have to self isolate if they do have symptoms, no matter how mild they may be (Group B). The UK is now a Group B country while Spain and France have been added to Group A overnight.

With hundreds of students from the Bailiwick studying off island, either in the UK, Europe or further afield, specific guidance has been issued as part of the latest update.
Parents are told that: “in view of the rapidly changing environment across the world including the closure of many institutions, potentially for an extended period, we would encourage students and their parents to consider whether they should return to the island sooner rather than later, even if this requires a period of self-isolation.”
Further advice is likely to be issued this week on travel plans.
