The survey, created by Liberate, seeks to establish any needs that are not being met for over-65s in the Bailiwick.

Liberate CEO, Ellie Jones, said the survey is open to everybody in the Bailiwick of Guernsey that is 65 or older, not just those who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ population.

“This survey is very important as it will help us discover what needs changing in Guernsey to improve the lives and wellbeing of our senior population,” they said.

“All responses will be treated with the utmost confidence. We want everyone to feel included in our population and we encourage all those over-65 to complete the survey as we really value their thoughts.”

The survey, which is funded by Pargiter Trust, includes questions about which services should be improved, whether certain things like technology, disabilities or money make services harder to access and if social activities are of interest.

Other questions delve deeper asking ‘have you experienced discrimination, prejudice, or unfair treatment in the last five years?’ and ‘what concerns you?’.

20,000 copies of the survey will be distributed via Guernsey Post this week. The survey can also be complete online HERE

If any assistance is needed in completing the survey, call Liberate on 07839 202201 or email hello@liberate.gg.

The survey closes on 24 June 2022.
