Each of the sessions were delivered by staff at the Amalgamated Boxing Club who donated their time to the Get Active Project 2020, and because of the popularity, a second round of the project is getting underway.

Eight more young people are set to be involved in the sessions, and will be learning a multitude of boxing skills lead by some of Guernsey’s finest Boxers and coaches. Once the course has ended, they are offered the option to continue their boxing journey with Amalgamated if they want to.
“It has been really great to have the support of the Amalgamated Boxing Club on this project and to see the engagement of young people in all of the sessions, without their support this opportunity for young people to take part in a new sport and improve their physical activity would not of been possible,” Aaron Davies, Service Lead at the Youth Commission, said.
The Commission delivers a range of Get Involved Projects working with local businesses to break down the barriers associated with accessing with physical activity, outdoor education or creative projects that are free and fun opportunities to have a go at new activities and learn new skills along the way.
