Last week it was confirmed that Guernsey’s store would be closing along with many others across the British Isles after the parent company put the cosmetics retailer into administration.

Staff at the Guernsey shop set about selling off their stock at bargain prices with customers queueing out of the door on Friday and Saturday.

Team Leader, Sophie De La Mare told Express that “all of us on the team are extremely grateful for the people who have kept our shop going all these years so it only felt right to show our appreciation.

“We were jam packed (all weekend), we had to restrict how many people were in the shop at once on Saturday as there were just so many people.

“The shop really was very loved. We as staff and the customers too are heartbroken to see it go. Hopefully better things are to come!”

The store had four members of staff – the manager Chantelle Bearder had been there for 10 years while Sophie, fellow Team Leader Charlie, and Chelsey had been there for differing lengths of time.

They were supported by volunteers over the weekend as the shop got so busy at times.

In her post shared to Facebook, Sophie also thanked “everyone who worked at our store before us and made it as special and loved as it is today”.

“We are so grateful for all the well wishes we have received and we are just sad to go as you are to see us go,” Sophie wrote.

“We have loved working for our beautiful store. This is goodbye and thank you from all the staff at Team Guernsey.”
