Guernsey has elected its States members using a fully island wide system for a second time.

The first time this system was used was in 2020.

On this occasion, 27,316 people enrolled on the electoral register and 19,686 people voted.

That gives a turnout of 72%.

The States of Guernsey compared this to the British Isles where voter turnout over the past five years has been around 54%.

432,212 votes were cast in total – meaning each person who voted supported an average of 22 candidates each.

Of the votes cast, around 8,000 were postal votes.

3,336 were cast at an advance polling station. The rest were cast on Wednesday 18 June.

In 2020, 30,899 had registered to vote and there was a 79.7% turnout with 24,626 people actually voting.

637,567 votes were cast in total. That means each person used 26 votes each.
