“We arrange informal networking events for young business people, so they can come together and meet people from other industries,” said the group’s President, Louise Le Pelley.
“We’re a lively energetic bunch of people and if anyone thinks that fits them, they can get in touch with us.”

Ms Le Pelley said she joined the group four years ago, after coming back to Guernsey after spending time in the UK.
“I feel when you come back a lot of people you knew from school have gone and some people had changed; I was looking to develop my CV, network with new people and develop my skills,” she said.
Ms Le Pelley said the group has evolved over time and it now welcomes people of all ages.
“I think the name YBG can seem a bit daunting, but it was created more than six years ago, and the entire workspace has changed since then. We’re working longer and people have more of a dynamic attitude towards work. We discuss all sorts.”

Ms Le Pelley said the island might be small, but there is still a place at the table for young people to get involved in business and meet other like-minded individuals.
“I really think that [the younger generation] is taking over and I’m talking from an arts point of view as well. There’s so much live music every single night at the moment in Guernsey,” she said.
“There are a lot of young dynamic people out there and we’re happy to facilitate that.”
