The Guernsey American Flag Football Association have teamed up with Trust Corporation International to put on the event, taking place at the Hockey Club.
GAFFA has been putting on extra coaching sessions to prepare teams for today’s tournament.
All proceeds are going to Headway Guernsey, which supports islanders and their families who live with the long-term effects of a brain injury. It provides a range of services which bring people together in a safe and supportive environment to prevent the isolation a serious injury can cause.
As well as a day of friendly sporting competition, the tournament will have a bouncy castle and other activities for children to ensure that all the family can enjoy the event.
Ken Wrigley, Headway Director, added: “Headway Guernsey is delighted to be the nominated charity for the inaugural American Flag Football Tournament. A healthy lifestyle is beneficial to all and it is wonderful to see a new sport gathering strength in Guernsey and receiving support from the local business community.”
