Teams taking part in the Student Robotics challenge had to build a fully autonomous robot to compete against other schools in an 8m square arena.

College students Hannah, Sabina and Daisy travelled to Southampton University for this year’s competition along with teachers Mr Hale and Ms Ledger – and of course Travis.

The event concluded with an intense match between Ladies’ College, Peter Symonds College, Hampton School, Lady Eleanor Holles Schools and Hills Road Sixth Form College.

Many different designs of robot were presented at the competition but Travis, with his elastic-band-powered catapult, was crowned the overall winner.
