The latest monthly unemployment figures were released by the Committee for Employment & Social Security this morning.
There were also 327 people doing some work but looking for more and claiming a top-up from the Committee. But the number of people in this category was also down – from 350 the previous month and from 506 at the same time last year.
New unemployment claims halved between January and February.

And the number of vacant jobs promoted by the Committee’s Job Centre increased to 565 – more than five times the number of vacancies promoted at the same time last year.
In Alderney, there were five jobseekers at the end of February compared to four at the end of January and 12 at the same time last year.
