At their parish election meeting on 13 July, St Peter Port ratepayers decided to defer their by-election until tomorrow, Wednesday, to provide an opportunity for as many eligible voters as possible to take part.

Pictured L-R: St Peter Port Douzenier candidates Christopher Hudson, Lisa Vahey and Christopher Nicolle supplied their details. Richard Ellis and Kathryn Collins are also candidates.
Polling stations will be set up at the Constables’ Office in Lefebvre Street and at Beau Sejour from 10:00 until 20:00 tomorrow.
Postal voting is not possible in parish elections.
Women in Public Life Chair, Shelaine Green, said the group, which is run by volunteers, was keen to provide St. Peter Port voters with access to the information they need.
“That way, voters feel more involved with what’s going on in their parish and are more likely to consider standing for election themselves,” she said.
