Guernsey’s main animal charity and shelter – the GSPCA – was called out yesterday afternoon to reports of a burgeoning budgie barrister at Carey Olsen.
However, by the time Rescue Officer Geoff George arrived, the law firm’s team had managed to catch the lost bird, which turned out to be a canary.
Following its adventure, the aspiring avian advocate was taken back to the GSPCA shelter and placed behind bars – for its safety, rather than the break and entry attempt.
Video: Canary or legal counsel? The GSPCA are currently trying to locate the owner of ‘Carey’.
“We are currently trying to find the owner of the peachy pinkish coloured canary which is now safely at the GSPCA,” explained Manager Steve Byrne.
“The team have named the bird ‘Carey’ the canary, and we are hoping an owner will come forward.
“A huge thanks to the team at Carey Olsen who kindly rescued the lost bird.”
