Students from Guernsey joined others from across the British Isles in performing at the O2 Arena in London.

The Young Voices Concert features thousands of young people singing 12 songs together.

One of the songs performed by year 5 and 6 students including those from The Ladies’ College, Melrose, and others across the country was accompanied by British Sign Language, while other pieces featured special guest artists.

This was the second time that Melrose students have participated in the Young Voices Concert with other local singers also taking part over the past decade.

Yeah 5 teacher and Melrose’s Young Voices coordinator, Tom Lewis said it was a great experience.

“Seeing our students perform in such a huge venue was an incredible moment,” he said.

“It’s not just about the music; it’s about giving them the chance to be part of something much bigger than themselves.

“This was a huge opportunity for them to develop their confidence, teamwork, and love for music.

“I’ve already started looking into returning next year and we’ll definitely be continuing our involvement with Young Voices in the future years.”

Thousands of young people contributed to this year’s Young Voices spectacle, with performances in Manchester, Sheffield, and Birmingham as well as London.
