The Cessna aircraft has been “recalled for maintenance off island”, and while a spokesperson for Waves said “every attempt” had been made to find a replacement, it was found that nothing comparable was available.

Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond Waves control, the aircraft has been recalled for maintenance off island and is not scheduled to return until the 22 June,” the spokesperson said.

All customers have been advised of the cancellations and either alternative arrangements have been made on their behalf, travel has been delayed until normal Waves service resumes or refunds have been processed.

The team at Waves sincerely apologise to the travelling community and their supportive customers.”

Waves advised Express that some customers had their flying dates put back until the airline had its aircraft back in its possession, and others were offered alternatives, while others had been offered full refunds.

It did not comment as to how many passengers had been affected, but the recall occurred earlier this week.
