GreenAcres has made the decision to close until further notice as the situation with covid-19 is continually developing.
Posting on social media, the staff at GreenAcres said it “is closed until further notice, but not to worry we are all fine and having fun!”
Other care homes have taken similar steps to ensure the safety of their residents, as the Bailiwick’s health authorities work to contain covid-19.
So far only one patient has been confirmed to have tested positive for the virus, but the threat of it spreading has seen strict travel restrictions brought in.
Les Ormes Care Home has said it is “shut to all non-essential visitors and residents have been asked not to leave the home”, adding that “although we have not completely shut our doors we believe that this will come very soon”.
St John’s Residential Home, which is based in Sausmarez Park has also decided to stop visitors entering the building, “for the foreseeable future”.
Other residential, nursing and care homes are believed to have already taken, or be considering similar measures.
