People in Guernsey are being invited to ‘drop everything’ and read for fifteen minutes on World Book Day, this Thursday lunchtime.
Islanders of all ages are being asked to ‘Stop, Drop and Read’ at midday tomorrow, (5 March), to “pause what they’re doing for a few moments and enjoy reading together”.
The initiative, from the Guille-Allès Library, is part of Guernsey’s National Year of Reading.
Adam Bayfield, the library’s Head of Marketing, said the initiative showed reading was “something we can all make time for”.
He added: “There are no rules on what ‘counts’ as reading – it could be a book, graphic novel, audiobook, newspaper, magazine, or anything else.
“The important thing is to find something you want to read and take some time to enjoy it.”
