The States Assembly & Constitution Committee, (SACC), is asking islanders what they think of island-wide voting, after its second outing at last year’s general election.
SACC has commissioned Island Global Research to run the survey, which is open to anyone aged 16 or over living in Guernsey, Herm or Jethou – regardless of whether they voted.
Deputy Sarah Hansmann-Rouxel, SACC President, said the goal was to track any changes in community views since the last survey in 2023.
She said: “How we elect our People’s Deputies really matters.”
Island-wide voting was “still relatively new” so it was right to ask people “how they feel it is working in practice”, she added.

Deputy Sarah Hansmann-Rouxel said: “This isn’t about defending or promoting a particular system – it is about listening.
“We want to understand what people think is working well, what feels less effective, and whether any improvements should be considered before 2029.”
The survey should take between 10 and 15 minutes to complete and closes on Monday 23rd March.
You can find the survey on Island Global Research’s website.
