The 20km fundraiser will take place on Saturday at 14:00, with a new start and finish location of La Mare De Carteret playing fields. Checkpoints will be at the Rousse tower and Pembroke Bay Beach House, before being turned around at L’Ancresse Common to return to Le Mare De Carteret.

There will also be walks in Sark and Herm, and for the first time, a ‘half walk’ will take place, beginning at the Beach House from 15:00. 

Louise Smith, Co-Founder and Director of This Is Epic, is thrilled that the 50th anniversary walk is able to go ahead.

“50 years of the walk is a fantastic achievement, and something that the island as a whole should be very proud of,” she said.

The walk is scheduled to finish at 18:00, and a celebration is planned with live music to mark the occasion.

Registration for the World Aid Walk is still open, with entries costing £10 for adults and £3 for people under 18. Late entries on the day will cost £15 for adults and £5 for under 18s. Walkers are also encouraged to raise as much money as possible, with money going towards various charities that combat poverty around the world.
