Lieutenant Governor General Sir John McColl undertook his official inspection of the reef on Monday.
The two-hour trip is a traditional duty of Lieutenant Governors during their five-year term of office.
The reefs are technically part of the Parish of St Martin, and Sir John met representatives from the Les Écréhous Residents Association and raised the Jersey flag as a mark of sovereignty.
The official party for the trip, which was led by Jersey’s Harbour Master Captain Phil Buckley and Group Chief Executive Officer Doug Bannister, included Chief Minister Ian Gorst, St Martin Constable Michel Le Troquer and parish Deputy Steve Luce.
The party was taken to and from the reef aboard the recently-refitted tug, The Duke of Normandy.
