The Senator is one of three politicians in the line-up for the first “Any Questions” event, which takes place at St Brelade’s Parish Hall from 7.30 pm tonight.

The event has been set up by change.je – an independent campaign group set up for the public to engage with politics.

Their first event features Senator Gorst and Vicky Boarder – the Ports Galots campaigner who successfully stopped ministers’ plans for a development including a maritime centre and flats at the harbour.

Finishing off the five-strong panel are the States longest-serving Deputy Judy Martin and Jersey’s assistant minister responsible for sport, St Brelade Constable Steve Pallett, and former Health Minister Ben Shenton, who is chairman of the Co-op in Jersey and Guernsey.

The line-up promises a good debate, and anyone interested can either go along to ask a question or can just tweet their question at #Anyquestionsjsy.

Organiser James Rondel said: “This is the perfect line-up to get the ball rolling for what we hope will become a monthly event.

“We’re very grateful to all of the panelists who have agreed to come, and it has been great to have a lot of interest from the public too.

“We want to give the public a chance to get into the subjects that they want answers to, not just have the same old faces and the same old subjects.

“We’re looking forward to a lively evening.”
