The owner of a convenience store in St Clement is appealing for information after an attempted break-in resulted in damage to the shop’s front door.
The States of Jersey Police are also investigating the incident, which took place at Samares Stores in the early hours of Thursday 4 June.
Samares Stores owner Adam Ewens told Express that the break-in attempt occurred at around 2.40am.
Tenants who live directly upstairs heard the noises of glass smashing below them and ran swiftly downstairs, scaring the individuals away before any further damage was caused.
Mr Ewens said: “Witnesses say it was around three men – one wearing a white mask.
“They were one more kick from getting in, but thankfully the tenants upstairs got there in time.”
He urged anyone with information which could support police in finding out who was behind the attempt to call 01534 612612.
