Police are appealing for information about a near-collision between two cars at the crossing between David Place and Stopford Road.

The incident took place on Friday 17 April between 10pm and 10.15pm.

The driver of a silver VW Golf had to swerve to avoid a collision with a Jeep-type vehicle going through the junction, according to police.

Officers believe the Golf “was driven in a manner which caused that driver to swerve”.

The force is keen to speak to the driver of the Jeep, as well as anyone else who might have witnessed the incident, including pedestrians, residents or motorists. Officers are also interested in dashcam or CCTV footage.

Anyone with information can contact the States police on 612612 or make an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-org.uk.
