Cider Insider

Islanders are being invited to enjoy a guided tour of Hamptonne Country Life Museum to learn everything about the traditional cider-making process, from start to finish.

The tour will take place this Sunday 25 January from 11.30am, finishing with a soup and bread lunch and a glass of Hamptonne cider to wash it down.

Tickets to the event are £12 per adult, all funds going towards supporting Jersey Heritage.

Revivals at The Sundown

Local band The Revivals will be hitting the Sundown stage from 10pm this evening.

This ‘four-piece’ band focuses on reviving classics from the ’90s, ’00s, and ’10s, with plenty of guitar.

Olly Rybarczuk will be treating early arrivals to tunes at from 8pm.

10km run

The Jersey Spartan Athletics Club has organised a 10km run on Sunday, starting from Sorel Point from 9am.

Those attending are advised to head towards Sorel Point and park in the gravel car park to the left.

The two-lap course will start and finish at the Bees Knees carpark at Les Platons.

This race is free for Spartans members and £5 for non-members.

Members should bring their club race number with them, with non-members to be provided with a number at check-in from 8.30am to 8.50am.

Beginner Instrument Trial Day

Da Capo Academy of Performing Arts is inviting islanders to try out a new instrument this Saturday from 10am.

While the event is family-friendly, the music school is hoping to see adults as well as children take the leap into music for the first time.

An array of instruments will be on offer, including brass, strings and woodwind.

No bookings are required for the event, which will take place at the St Helier Town Hall from 10am and 12pm.

Academy tutors and adult learners will be in attendance to help those wishing to sample a potential new hobby.

Parish of St Helier Tea Dance

A tea dance is due to take place at the Town Hall on Wednesday 28 January from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

The afternoon of music, dancing, and light refreshments is due to run on the last Wednesday of each month until November 2026.

All islanders are welcome to join, and free tickets are available from the Town Hall or online from Eventbrite.
