An internationally renowned dance-circus company is set to perform at the Jersey Opera House next week.

Every week, Express presents a selection of exhibitions, performances, workshops, events and other historic, creative, sporty and delicious content to help islanders get their weekly dose of culture.

Here’s this week’s offering…

Motionhouse

Dance-circus company Motionhouse is performing its jaw-dropping production ‘Hidden‘ at the Opera House next week.

Hidden explores how, in an increasingly divided world, light can come out of darkness in times of crisis.

Motionhouse is famous for combining live performance and digital integration – with gravity-defying choreography, an emotive soundscape, a shape-shifting set and projections – to create an immersive world on stage.

The dance company is performing in Jersey on Thursday 23 April at 7.30pm and Friday 24 April at 1.30pm and 7.30pm.

More information and tickets can be found online.

RNLI Jersey Car Wash

RNLI Jersey is holding a charity car wash on Sunday 19 April at Albert Pier from 10am to 1.30pm.

A minimum donation of £5 is requested, with proceeds supporting the lifeboat service’s work. Cake and refreshments will also be available for purchase.

Organisers advise arriving before 1.15pm, as high demand may lead to some vehicles being turned away.

You can find out more about the event here.

Day Disco – 90s Club Classics

A 90s club classics daytime event is being held at The Royal Yacht on Saturday 18 April from 4pm to 10pm to celebrate Day Disco’s second birthday.

The disco will feature DJs and live acts including Graeme Park, Jon Pleased Wimmin, Paul Bleasdale, and DJ Hedgie b2b Damo (Wonky Brothers).

Organisers say the event follows a previous sell-out and will be their only 90s club classics event this year.

Tickets are available from £26.50.

Under-18s Muratti

The Under-18 Muratti will take place on Sunday 19 April at Springfield Stadium, with kick-off at 1pm.

Hosted by the Jersey Football Association, the annual fixture will see Jersey’s top young players take on their Guernsey counterparts.

Entry is £4 per person, payable at the gate. You can find out more about the event here.

Easter Egg-stravaganza

An interactive family show featuring music, comedy and an Easter egg hunt will take place in the Opera House studio space this weekend.

Dantastic’s Easter Egg-stravaganza will run from Saturday 18 April to Sunday 19 April.

A total of six performances will take place over the weekend, with some already sold out.

The 60-minute family show includes sing-alongs, dancing and an appearance from the Easter Bunny.
