The final performance of an explosive contemporary dance piece exploring the interplay of money, power, and religion between African and Western cultures is due to take place this evening.

GREED
Tavaziva Dance returns to the Jersey Arts Centre this week with their acclaimed performance GREED.
First performed in 2013, the explosive sixty-minute contemporary dance explores the interplay of money, power, and religion between African and Western cultures and is choreographed by Bawren Tavaziva.
The final of the two-day run begins at 20:00 on Friday 25 April. There will be no interval.
Delicious Jersey
Jersey’s newest food celebration is set to take over the Weighbridge this weekend with a packed programme of live demos, music, and local produce – headlined by two celebrity chefs.
Chef demonstrations, live entertainment, family-friendly activities and a local farmers’ market will be on offer from 11:00 to 19:00 on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 April.
A highly-anticipated Q&A with Michael Caines MBE will also take place at 10:00 on Saturday.

Get your quiz on
The ever-popular Jersey Employment Trust quiz night returns this Friday 25 April.
Islanders can get their brains in gear at the Pomme d’Or Hotel while raising money for the charity, which supports disabled islanders with employment and training opportunities.
Led by quiz masters ‘More Than A Quiz’, the event offers some seriously awesome prizes, including family days out, food vouchers and Apple tech.
Doors open at 18:30 and buffet food will be provided. Teams of four or six quizzers can enter here.
Killer Queen
Islanders can be immersed in the world of Queen at The Lido this Friday 25 April with a Freddie Mercury tribute performance.
Organised by LGBTQ+ event group Divine Creatures, the one-night-only performance of “Luke as Freddie” will feature Queen’s legendary 80s hits.
The event will raise money for the Mercury Phoenix Trust, which supports the global fight against AIDS.
Luke will take to the stage from 20:00, and then drag acts will keep the party going in ‘The After Affair’ from 21:30 until 01:00.

Colour Run
The sky above St Aubin’s Bay will turn multi-coloured this Saturday 26 April with the return of Family Nursing & Home Care’s Colour Festival.
Hundreds of participants of all ages will run or walk along the beach while covered in different coloured powder.
All funds raised will go towards the vital work of the nursing charity’s paediatric palliative care worker, who cares for children with life-threatening and/or life-limiting conditions.
A DJ will be on hand to get everyone warmed up and entertained throughout the event from 11:00 to 14:00.
Warm-ups begin at 11:00 and the first runners will set off at 12:00. The colour blast ‘paint the sky’ will take place at 13.40.

Open garden
The Jersey Association for Youth and Friendship begins its series of summer open garden events this Sunday 27 April.
Visitors will be able to explore the beautiful surroundings of Domaine Des Vaux farmhouse in St Lawrence from 14:00 to 17:00 while raising money to support young homeless people in Jersey.
Cream teas, a plant stall, a tombola and an expert-led nature trail will all be on offer.
Entry costs £6 with under 12s free. No dogs are permitted in the grounds.
