Michael Caines and Stephen Lamb who will be appearing at the Delicious Jersey food festival

Jersey’s newest food celebration is set to take over the Weighbridge this weekend with a packed programme of live demos, music, and local produce – headlined by two celebrity chefs.

Running from Saturday 26 to Sunday 27 April, the Delicious Jersey Food Festival is a free, family-friendly event designed to showcase the best of the island’s land-based food scene – timed to coincide with the seasonal arrival of freshly harvested Jersey Royals.

The event is being organised by the Jersey Hospitality Association as part of its Delicious Jersey campaign, and is backed by the Government of Jersey and Jersey Electricity.

The two-day schedule kicks off on Saturday with a Q&A with Michael Caines at 10:00, followed by his official opening of the festival at 11:00. Throughout the weekend, Steven Lamb will lead interactive cooking demos using Jersey beef, pork, lamb, cream and yoghurt – including sessions on how to make Bresaola, bacon, Merguez sausages, butter and labneh.

There’ll also be a farmers’ market, pop-up restaurants, and live music from the likes of Rick Jones, Matt McManus, Jason Wyatt, Grace Butler and The Riffs.

The RJA and HS will be hosting a hands-on educational area, where families can meet calves, learn from local growers and speak with dairy farmers.

“We created this event to honour the passionate people behind Jersey’s food culture,” said JHA Co-CEOs Ana and Marcus Calvani. “With all the chefs, producers and artisans here in one place, it will be a truly magnificent celebration.”

A second Delicious Jersey Food Festival, focusing on seafood, is set to follow in September.
