A Jersey charity has announced an “action packed calendar of events” to mark World Autism Acceptance Month.
Autism Jersey said the month-long event is “aimed at promoting awareness, acceptance and inclusion of autistic individuals in society”.
The charity said: “It is a time for everyone to get involved, raise awareness, understanding and celebrate acceptance.”
The month is centred around a theme that changes each year, and includes activities such as fundraising, sharing resources and participating in events to support autistic people and their families.
“At Autism Jersey we encourage everyone to get involved in the community, schools, workplaces and help create a society that works for autistic people,” the charity said.
Events begin on Thursday 2 April with Islanders invited to visit the Autism Jersey team at their stand at Charing Cross between 9am and 5pm, where information will be available for individuals, parents, carers and employers.
Autism Jersey Boutique, based at The Parade, will also be taking part in the campaign, offering pre-loved items and complimentary shortbread.
Landmarks including Fort Regent and CI Cooperative Grand Marche will be lit up blue, while the parish of St Helier Autism Jersey branded refuge truck and team will be out and about to raise awareness.

Further events are set to take place on Saturday 4 April, with the Autism Jersey Duck Race at Le Perquage Stream in St Lawrence from 12pm to 4pm, with free entry.
The race will be streamed online at 6:30pm, with prizes including a 55-inch Samsung SMART TV, a Merton Hotel 4 Day Pass and a £50 Jump Jersey voucher on offer.
Tickets cost £4 per duck and can be purchased online or in person at the Autism Jersey Boutique.
The day will also feature “lots of fun activities” including face painting, Jersey Showman, Storm Troopers Jersey Garrison, Ghost Busters, craft making, hook-a-duck, Donut Be Happy and the Easter Bunny.
Lesley Harrison, Head of Charitable Services, said: “World Autism Acceptance Month is a dedicated period focused on raising awareness, understanding, and acceptance of autism.
“We will celebrate the uniques of autistic individuals, promote inclusive practices, and educate the public about the challenges and strengths.
“It is a time for our small community to come together in support of individuals, their families and carers, advocating for acceptance and equal opportunities.”
