Pictured: Government guidelines advise that any events should have a maximum of 40 people.
On the event’s Facebook page, a statement read:
“Due to the current restrictions on events and the uncertainty over what will happen with events in the coming months, we are still not in a position to confirm a date for The Frontline Ball.
“Because of this, we have decided to refund all donations made via our GoFundMe page, as we feel it is not right to hold onto these donations when people may need these funds during this current pandemic.”
Current guidelines state that public events “remain limited to a maximum of 40 people” under strict maintenance of social distancing and safety measures.
However, there is still a chance islanders shall go to the ball, as they noted at the end of the post that “the event will go ahead at a future date and updates will be shared as to when this will be, along with details on when the GoFundMe page opens again.”
