A body found in Jersey waters last week was that of a UK resident travelling by ferry to St Malo, police have confirmed.

The deceased man was today named as Timothy Mckenna.

The States of Jersey Police said: “Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.”

pathologist was in the island this week to help with the identification.

In a statement, the force said: “The Police Coroner’s Office can confirm that formal identification of the body that was brought into Jersey on 15 January has now taken place, the individual has been identified as Mr Timothy Mckenna, a UK resident travelling to St Malo.”
