You can read the whole thing online, but here’s a few interesting snippets from the report.

  • 93% of us think our neighbourhood is very or fairly safe.

  • The top-rated play-equipment at parks was at Millbrook (96% said it was very good or good), the lowest was Longbeach in Gorey (29% said it was poor or very poor).

  • 2% of us have taken out a payday loan in the last 12 months.

  • 10% of people say it wouldn’t be at all acceptable to close Victoria Avenue for two extra days per year.

  • 45% of us travel to work in a car on our own – just 4% take the bus.

  • 25% of us had not left the Island in 12 months.

  • 16% of us smoke every day – the number has not changed in three years, but the number of cigarettes they smoke has gone from 16 to 13 since 2010.

  • The most popular way of getting to the Airport? A lift from friends or relatives (74%).

  • The highest number yet – 88% – described their health as good, very good or excellent.

  • 93% of us are trying to save energy at home or work, but 46% of us wouldn’t spend £200 or more to reduce annual bills by £50.

  • The over-65s are taking to the internet – 81% say they use email, 76% use it to browse for information or news, and 65% for buying goods and services.

  • 52% say that in an emergency, it’s up to the government to make sure there’s enough food for the Island – and 20% say it’s up to supermarkets.
