Both Radio Jersey and Channel 103 FM are giving regular live updates on which car parks in town have spaces.
Transport and Technical Services has replaced its 15 year-old counter system in the multi storeys in Green Street, Pier Road, Sand Street, Patriotic Street and Minden place to give more precise information on spaces and so that the barrier comes down automatically when the car parks are full.
Transport Minister Deputy Eddie Noel said: “I am pleased we are able to provide car park availability information with this system upgrade which will enhance our customer service. I would also like to thank the radio stations for helping us in communicating this to the public.”
