In a letter sent on the day of Charles III’s proclamation in Jersey, Deputy Kristina Moore spoke of the historic links between the island and the Crown.

“As Your Majesty will recall, His Majesty King Charles bestowed the island with a Royal Mace in 1663, after he had been proclaimed King in our Royal Square,” she wrote.

“It was particularly poignant for us all to celebrate Your Majesty’s Proclamation and a new Carolean era in that same place.”
