The church is raising money to make their building more accessible for islanders with disabilities.

Last year, half the funds went towards the building improvements while the rest went to charity Healing Waves, to support their surf therapy sessions.

This year, half of the funds will go to Dementia Jersey.

Vicar Mark Barrett said: “It’s an illness that really affects everyone.”

The challenge will take place from 8 to 19 July.

Mr Barrett continued: “Some people will do all 12 [runs] and others will just pop in for the odd one.”

He added: “It’s a great buzz and it grows each night – I’d like to make it an annual event.”

There will be a maximum of 20 runners per night and those who would like to take part should email admin@standrewschurch.org.je.

Mr Barrett is also interested to hear from those interested in helping as a “mobile marshal” by cycling with the runners.
