Islanders are being warned about scammers posing as a Jersey-based financial firm and promoting fake investment opportunities.
The Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC) has issued an alert after an impersonating entity falsely claimed to be linked to Titan Wealth Holdings Limited, which forms part of the wider Titan Wealth Group.
According to the regulator, the fraudulent operation has been advertising an online trading platform offering investments in foreign exchange, commodities, stocks and indices.
However, the JFSC stressed that the entity and associated websites have no connection whatsoever to the legitimate Jersey-registered company, which is based in St Helier, nor to Titan Wealth (CI) Limited, a regulated firm operating from Liberation Square.
The warning comes amid ongoing concerns about increasingly sophisticated “clone firm” scams, where fraudsters mimic genuine businesses to appear credible and lure investors.
CONCERNED?
The regulator is urging anyone who may have engaged with the impersonating entity to come forward. Islanders can contact the JFSC’s enforcement team by emailing enforcement@jerseyfsc.org, or report concerns anonymously via its confidential whistleblowing line on +44 (0)1534 887557.
Members of the public are also being reminded to carry out thorough checks before making any investment and to verify that firms are properly registered and regulated.
