Parents of young children with diabetes will also be considered for support.
“There has been a very serious lack of psychological support for some time, particularly for young people learning to live with Type 1 diabetes and, to a lesser extent, those with Type 2 diabetes,” explained Diabetes Jersey’s Chair, Bill O’Brien.
“Therefore the charity has addressed the issue, hopefully on a temporary basis, until Health and Community Services are able to fulfil the need which, in some cases, is desperate.”
