De La Salle earned their place in the final with fellow competitors La Moye School, Victoria Prep and Plat Douet with only eight points separating them in what was a very close final.
Also competing on the day will be Jersey College for Girls (JCG) who won the Year 8 Jersey title after beating runners-up Le Rocquier in the final after two heats.
They will now face Elizabeth College from Guernsey for the chance to win the inter-island title.
The JCG team said they were very excited to compete in Guernsey because they had never visited the Island before.
“We did a lot of preparation for the competition so we were happy that it all paid off. We look forward to representing Jersey Year 8 in the inter-island final and hope we can make our school proud,” they said.
Once again this year’s Jersey event featured a Post-16 contest, with Hautlieu, Victoria College, Jersey College for Girls and De La Salle College competing for the Jersey trophy.
Hautlieu beat Victoria College in a very close final and they both will now go on to face Elizabeth College and the Ladies’ College in the Post-16 inter-Island final in Guernsey.
Channel Television reporter John Fernandez made his debut as this year’s quizmaster, stepping into the shoes of his colleague Rob Moore who spent six years in this voluntary role.
“I was genuinely staggered by the level of talent from some of these young people, from Year 6 to the Post-16 students you could tell that there are some seriously bright children at the island’s schools.
“I now can’t wait for the final, because what is better than a bit of inter-island rivalry! May the best school win!”
De Putron Challenge final takes place on Thursday 24 November at OGH Hotel in Guernsey from 11:00 to 14:00.
