The attack happened at the St. James Wine Bar on Wednesday night.
A pub-goer was described as having become “drunk and disorderly”, leading a Police officer to intervene.
But when he did, the man lashed out, kicking him in the leg. He was subsequently arrested.

While a Police spokesperson told Express that attacks on Police officers were not uncommon, the incident nonetheless led Deputy Chief Police Officer Julian Blazeby to issue strong words on social media.
In a Twitter posting, he said that officers should not be attacked simply for doing their job.
“Jersey Police officer assaulted last night doing his job, dealing with someone who had consumed too much alcohol and became violent, no excuse for this behaviour, Jersey Police protecting the community.”

His comments gained support from islanders and States members. St. Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft ‘liked’ the message, while Senator Ian Gorst, the new Minister for External Relations, retweeted it.
