Stuart Herbert Wilkinson (55) was banned from driving for 30 months and ordered to carry out 120 hours of community service for the offence of drinking and driving.
St. Peter Centenier Joao Camara told the Magistrate’s Court that Wilkinson was driving along La Grande Route de St Pierre on 23 February at around 19:35 in the direction of St. Ouen when his black Land Rover Discovery left the road and crashed through a garden wall, hitting a post in the garden.
He was taken to hospital and was found to have 213 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrams.
Passing sentence, Assistant Magistrate Sarah Fitz warned him: “Were there to be any recurrence, you would most definitely be looking at custody.”
When his ban has finished, Wilkinson will have to retake his driving test before driving again.
