Hundreds of islanders are set to take on a 15-mile coastal challenge next spring, as one of Jersey’s most popular charity walks returns.

Jersey Mencap has confirmed that its South Coast Charity Challenge will take place on Sunday 17 May 2026, marking the 18th year of the annual fundraiser.

Starting at La Rocque and finishing at Corbière, the route follows the island’s south coast for 15 miles and regularly attracts more than 500 participants.

The event – which has sold out for the past two years – raises between £15,000 and £20,000 annually to support people with learning disabilities.

Funds go towards a range of projects, including art initiatives, environmental programmes and a packed schedule of social, health and fitness activities for the charity’s 192 members.

Organisers said an alternative shorter and more accessible route will also be available, allowing more people to take part.

This year’s event is supported by Asset Risk Consultants, Waitrose, LibertyBus and Jersey Water.
